Between yesterday and this morning, I spent a considerable amount of time collecting my thoughts with respect to the pantry project. Now I'm not really supposed to be focused on this project right now, seeing I still haven't completed the garage organization project yet. That said, I couldn't resist the temptation, seeing I just got my hands on a new laser measurer, the Bosch GLM 50 C. My first attempt at building a project in the Bosch companion iPhone mobile app was to map out the pantry space. That set me in motion with wrapping up the formal design of the space.
Just so you know, the pantry is currently a space cluttered with stuff on the floor and a commercial kitchen storage rack (the kind you can get at the Costco). The goal with this project is to build an elegant space that is also organized and utilitarian. If all goes to plan, I'll be able to move the espresso machine into the pantry, clearing up counter space in the butler pantry. A bar sink will be installed make the coffee making and clean-up process more optimized. I'm also hoping that we will be able to keep the toaster oven permanently setup in the pantry - instead of having to carry it out of the pantry and into the kitchen counter.
The pantry will include walnut shelves and counter tops. The cabinets and shelf supports will be made of a paint grade hardwood, and painted a slate gray. There will be three slide out drawers. And for the corner cabinet, I plan on building a set of sliders that will enable accessible storage in the usually hard to reach void (hard to explain, but I have the idea already formalized).
