Ali's Chest of Drawers

I built two of these chest of drawers a number of years ago. They were each part of a set that was paired with a Crib. One of the sets was intended for my daughter, while the other one was built for my niece.

This project was my fist attempt at hand-cutting a large number of dovetails, both full dovetails and half-blind. For my daughters set, I went with a cherry, maple, and walnut blend of wood. For my nieces bed, I went with cherry and maple with black hardware.

I also attempted building wooding slides for this project, which wasn't all that challenging to accomplish.

Unfortunately, I can't recall the website that inspired me for both the crib and chest of drawers. I do recall really appreciating the combination of Asian and Shaker design features.
